Risk Management

Comprehensive Risk Management Plan

For more than 30 years Eos Study Tours staff has dealt successfully with the vicissitudes of international travel. We have adapted to a changing world environment: pandemics, oil price increases, currency devaluations, terrorism, piracy, wars, revolutions, and so on.

  • Eos Study Tours excels in fiscal management and protection of passenger funds. There is never any co-mingling of passenger funds.

  • Tour operators from around the world are meticulously selected and each is carefully contracted with all itinerary details specifically outlined.

  • Participants complete medical forms to confirm they are fit to travel and what (if any) special medical problems or dietary needs they have and what (if any) prescription drugs they require, in case of emergency.

  • Eos Study Tours staff systematically reviews US State Department (USSD) Warnings and Advisories and enrolls each group in the USSD STEP program.

  • Medical recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are provided for each destination to every participant.

  • Examples of Eos’s adaptability and fiscal integrity:

  • The COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on the travel industry as whole. Eos canceled every tour program from March 2020 through May 2021, and 100% of all participants on land trips received full refunds while cruise passengers received partial refunds and/or future credits from the cruise lines. Throughout the pandemic, the Eos team worked hard on planning trips through 2023.

“We are so fortunate to have booked our trip [Israel, May 2020] with AIA . We will for sure use AIA for our trips in the future. Your association is very reputable, which we appreciate.” - Louis, California

  • The 2011 revolutions in North Africa and the Middle East, especially Egypt, were another special challenge, in that Eos Study Tours has managed the entire educational travel program (AIA Tours) for the Archaeological Institute of America since 1999 and Egypt is a key AIA destination. In January 2011 Eos had a group in Cairo, and three more groups scheduled to arrive in Cairo, when the revolution turned violent in Tahrir Square and a Travel Warning was issued by the U.S. State Department, urging all Americans to depart Egypt immediately and cancel pending plans to enter Egypt. Eos obtained swift refunds for these cancelled participants.

"I wasn't expecting a final result quite this soon so the refund is a great surprise. This is great news and recognition of excellent work by your staff.”

- Paul, Australia

"Not even a revolution can keep AIA from looking good!"

- Loretta, Texas

"I would like to express my thanks with regard to the prompt and professional handling of the situation regarding the refund for our canceled trip."

- John and Anna, California
